Open-plan kitchen and lounge at The Mill with a leather corner sofa and exposed roof beams

Self Catering Cairngorms Holidays at The Mill

The Mill is the largest of our three cottages, and a lovely base for self catering Cairngorms holidays. Walk into the warm, open-plan living space and your eye goes straight past the log-burning stove to the double-height picture windows and the far-reaching views beyond.

There's seating for eight around the dining table and in the lounge, so The Mill works well as the gathering place when a family books more than one cottage.

Underfloor heating, exposed beams and a fully equipped kitchen make it easy to settle in, whether you're here for a few nights or a whole week.

Sleeps 4 in two bedrooms, with a cot and high chair on request

Decking With a View

The master bedroom has a king-size bed, a wall-mounted flat-screen TV and patio doors that open onto a decking area with patio furniture.

It's the place for breakfast in the sun, a meal outdoors, or a wee dram as the light fades over the hills.

Inside The Mill

Everything you need for a comfortable stay, from a warm bathroom floor to space for your bikes.

Living

An open-plan lounge and dining area with a log-burning stove, a large picture window, a FreeSat flat-screen TV, wifi and 4G.

Sleeping

Two good-sized bedrooms sleeping two each: a twin, and a master bedroom with a king-size bed. Each will take a cot if needed.

Bathroom

A bathroom with a bath and a separate shower. If you like a long soak and stepping out onto a warm floor, this is your cottage.

Kitchen and Laundry

A fully equipped kitchen for easy self-catering, and full laundry facilities for muddy boots and wet days on the hill.

Parking and Charging

Parking for two cars, and EV charging at 3.6 or 7kW for electric and hybrid vehicles.

Bikes and Kit

Secure storage for bikes, skis and other sports equipment, with a drying room shared across the steading.

On Your Doorstep

Walks start at the door, across the Glenlivet Estate and the hills around the steading. Across the valley, the Bike Glenlivet mountain bike trails suit beginners and experienced riders alike, and in winter the Lecht Ski Centre is a short drive south.

Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highlands, has art, craft and whisky shops, and you're on the Speyside Malt Whisky Trail, with distillery tours, castles and the RSPB Osprey Centre all within reach.
